Mingma Gyabu Sherpa, also known as Mingma David who climbed different 8000m peaks for 25 times including Everest 7 times and world’s second highest Peak K2 three times including first K2 winter ascent, is one of the veteran climber and expert rescuers at high altitude. Mingma climbed Everest, Lhotse, K2, Makalu, Manaslu, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Gasherbrum (1 and 2), Nanga Parbat, Kanchenjunga, Broad peak and Cho Oyu between 2010 to 2019. He climbed Everest and K2 within 61 days and made successful traverses of Everest and Lhotse in less than 20 hours which made him enlisted in the World Guinness World Record. Till the date Mr. Sherpa made more than 100 human rescues from the mountains including some from the death zone above 8000m. In 2016 Mingma and his team successfully operated the highest mix rescue human and air from the death zone of Everest from 8600m. This rescue has been considered as one of the highest human powered rescue operations ever. In 2016 within two months a rescue team led by Mingma Gyabu successfully conducted 52 rescues in Everest Region and all were successful. Remarkably, Mingma led the rescue operation “highest long line rescue ever” in Dhaulagiri 1, where his team made first human rescue recovery from 7900m Camp III and later sling recovery (long ling) from 7400m. Mingma David is the key climber and also partner of NIMS’s Project Possible for climbing 14 eight thousanders in just 7 months. Mingma is now in the mission of 7 summits, climbing all the 7 highest peaks of 7 continents. Starting Everest from 2010 Mingma already finished Elbrus in 2018 and Aconcagua in 2018, remaining are scheduled for 2019 and 2020. In 2019, Mingma was awarded by the World Guinness Record of being Youngest Summiter of all 14 eight thousanders.
